“Me and My Gear” ~ Wat Hua Lumpong, Bangkok, 12/07/2010
Wow! Fifty-two weeks of Wanders!
When I started this PhotoBlog, I didn’t know where it would all go, and I must say it has been an interesting experience. There were weeks when I wasn’t sure I could keep it up, and I did pull more than one Thursday “all-nighter” to get the post up within my self-imposed time frames.

Part of my purpose was to practice regular writing, to get more familiar with managing web projects and to expand my photo processing. Taking the pictures was easy; organising them into weekly themes or photo-story projects was much less so.

“Me and My Man” ~ On the Road to Puivert, France, 16/04/2011
I want to thank my wonderful, ever-patient husband for his endless support, his willingness to join me on many of my wanders, and his preparedness to proof-read text in the middle of the night. Both his work and mine have given me access to places I might not otherwise have gone. In the last year, without having to resort to archived photographs, I’ve posted about nine countries on four continents.

I also want to thank my small, but faithful audience – especially those who have made contact with me: either on the page or behind the scenes. The feedback has been great. My thanks also to my “cyber-stalkers” – those visitors, regular and otherwise, who don’t tell me they are there, but who show up in my Google Analytics statistics.

Follow The Light ~ Sun Symbol at a Brahman Temple, Prachuapkhirikhan, 9/01/2011
It has been fascinating watching my stats grow to reach 789 visits in a month from 70 different countries. Of course, I’ve received my fair share of porn, junk mail and advertising. I admit, I was amused by my first spam in Russian, but it is getting rather ‘old’ now!

Negotiating a Picture ~ Prachuapkhirikhan, 5/09/2010
Although I have considered “Bi-Weekly Wanders” or even “Monthly Meanderings”, my intention is to stick with the “Weekly” formula for a while – maybe even for another year – and wait for the book offer. 😉

I See You! Mae Lit School, 29/05/2011
Congratulations on a very productive and visually stimulating first year of Weekly Wanders, Ursula. Your commitment to your craft is admirable, as is the quality of your work. Keep it up, but don’t work too hard! The world can cope with ‘Fortnightly Flights of Fancy’ or ‘Monthly Meanderings’ if you want a break from time to time. Looking forward to seeing where your wanders take you next.

Thanks, Carol! Always happy to have you along for the ride. 😀
